New Stance

Well she is back on the ground with a new set of shoes and a upgraded and lowered suspension. She could be lower, but this truck is a driver and a utilitarian vehicle for the shop. So function over form on this one………

Merry Christmas

In Germany/Austria, Saint Nick and Krampus go around like a good cop/bad cop team. Krampus, a whip carrying, horned goat demon, with a long red tongue takes the naughty ones, while Santa Claus rewards the good ones. (Hopefully there are no naughty ones out there as Krampus has some whipping switches ready)

Back at it finally……..

Lots been going on since late summer. Working hard taking care of family business since my father passed. Its not been much fun and working on getting my mother in good shape and on her own has been a challenge.

But enough about that……. Good news is the shop is moving to a more friendly area as far parking, room and just a nicer building.

Maybe in the future this may become a full time gig and the change is needed…Gotta give a big thanks to Matt Young and Dave herr for helping me move all my crap last weekend. You dont realize how much crap you have till you have to move all of it.

So i hope to get back at it and post up some photos and stuff….

Panananana Pogo Seat....

Been finally getting back after some things since all the events with my father passing and a few other family things that had to be done....So I been teaching myself how to do seat coverings since buying the new mochine....Well I picked up a bunch of remenants of real leather while at Davenport. So I thought I would give the pan seat a try doing it in Diamond tuft. Still showing in pic are some white chalk lines but seat cover looks pretty good but not quite perfecto. Needs some foam on pan base and riveted in place....May end up going with straight pleats in the end but just seeing if I could do this for now....Now if my feet were just smaller I could stand closer to the stove while cooking...I guess that one home ec class I took in high School is paying off..

Shakedown by Shoe

My pal Randy and his pop just finished up this little roadster...It was done all in the back yard shop and it is sweet...Powered by a Big nasty big block Chebbie engine backed with a muncie 4spd...Well I helped in a very very small capacity on a few things on the car so I looked a Ronnie and said take me for a spin...He threw the keys to me and said no you take it for a spin....So Wes and I climbed in and a grin came to my face as she rumbled to a start....Randy warned me that she was a powerful girl....Lets just say its all you want in a light short car with a big engine....

New equipment for the shop

Well while attending the Street rod nats last week I secured a deal on a new Sewing machine....Top of the line and with buying the demo from the weekend I saved about 5 hundo....It has a servo motor which is a joy especially since I am new to sewing uphls stuff. With a servo motor it works like a throttle pedal the more you push the pedal the faster it goes or let off the slower it goes.

Had one of my buddy Shortbus' Kustoms seat pans laying there and some remnants of material.

This my first attempt at a pleated cover. Its just slid over the pan with no foam or fastended.Lots to learn and more to do but the new Mo'cheeen is most awesome.

God Speed Dad

Sorry I have been missing in action....I had been doing a little summer event traveling and then a week ago Friday lost my father to complications from diabetes. God Speed Dad.....I think my brother said it best last week when he was told of the news.

Todd Shoemaker "When people see me with my son Zeke they always tell me how great of a dad I am. I deserve very little credit for this I just follow the path that was laid before me by my father. Ronald H. Shoemaker was a great man and a honarable man. He passed away last night and I justed wanted to state that he and my mom made me who I am and made my sister and brothers some of the best people I know."thanks Dad I love You!!!

I feel that if you know me you can insert daughter for son and I am that person...

Heres a family pic minus one sibling that had not been born yet.But you can see where my taste in eye wear comes from........My dad The Big Shoe the Crazy Cool Cat he was can rock on in heaven
Thanks Shoe

How to make Your rear look Sexy

Well I am working on my stuff for awhile as I have been doing alot of other stuff for others leaving very little time for me.

Well I had been kicking around some mild customizing ideas for the back of the Merc...Well Heres what I came up with. I had about wrote the rear bumber off as it was bent twisted and banged up. So I figured if I could hammer cut and weld it in to something and if it didnt turn out scrap it...Also the plate mount was ugly and I wanted a long lower look for the rear.. Started with this.

And ended up with this. I Hammered the bumper straight and made a recessed pocket for the plate in it...next I removed and filled the old gas filler hole in the rear body panel.Next was the rear lamps for a much lower look I removed the tail lamp assys and cut off the back up lamps section and added to the qtrs to make it have a lower more folling rear....Now on to the front end ....
